ADVISORY/Columbia Sportswear Donates Over $28,000 in Product to This Year's ''Christmas for Kids'' Program

WHAT: Filled with holiday spirit, Columbia Sportswear Company(R) (Nasdaq:COLM) donated over $28,000 in product (jackets and t-shirts) to this year's "Christmas for Kids" program. This annual community service program sponsored by the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors- Portland (NAIFA-Portland) helps underprivileged children in the community receive coats, clothing and toys for the holidays. Teachers from various school districts, including Portland, Tigard/Tualatin, David Douglas, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Forest Grove, and Clackamas schools individually nominate the children who are in need of assistance. Representatives from NAIFA-Portland, Columbia Sportswear, and other corporate sponsors will help the children "shop" for items that they would like to have for the holidays. WHEN: Friday, December 8, 2000 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. WHERE: Hollywood West Fred Meyer Store (Entrance B) 3030 NE Weidler Portland, OR WHO: NAIFA received community and corporate support from some of the following:
Columbia Sportswear Company: Donated over $28,000 in product
to give each child. Columbia employees will volunteer all day.
Fred Meyer: Hollywood West store offers a generous discount on
all merchandise purchased for the children. Fred Bear will be
present.
Oregon Ballet Theatre: Artistic Director James Canfield has
donated tickets to OBT's performance of the Nutcracker.
Various costumed characters from the Nutcracker will appear.
Portland Police Bureau, Clackamas County Sheriffs Office and
Tigard Police Bureau: Donated teddy bears and stuffed animals.
