NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 10, 2000
Razorfish, Inc. (NASDAQ: RAZF), the digital solutions provider, today announced that it has partnered with Bikeshop.com to create www.BikeShop.com. The site, which was implemented in just under two months, launched on December 16, 1999, targeting Southern California. This e-commerce site features Raleigh, Diamondback, and Univega bicycles, and includes a ShopAssistant that asks questions and recommends bikes; bike style browsing capability; a dealer locator; and the ability to purchase bikes on-line. Customer support for the site is provided through LivePerson, an Internet customer service company that provides real-time customer service, so users are able to communicate with a service representative around-the-clock.
&uot;Together Razorfish and Bikeshop.com have begun to reinvent the retail bicycle industry,&uot; said Arun Bordoloi, Client Partner, Razorfish. &uot;The initial launch of Bikeshop.com has created a new sales channel and expanded the range of opportunities for strengthening relationships between independent bike distributors and their customers. We will continue to build on this model and enhance the user experience, thereby maintaining this best-in-class retail e-commerce site.&uot;
&uot;We're committed to establishing one of the strongest 'click-and-mortar' models on the Web,&uot; commented Carlos Tribino, General Manager at Bikeshop.com. &uot;We already have hundreds of independent dealers tied to our program, which means that nationally we will be able to offer consumers hands-on customer service and great user experiences.&uot;
This is the first phase of a multi-phase project between the two companies. Future phases of Bikeshop.com will include features such as an enhanced ShopAssistant; bike comparison; bike customization; a shopping cart; online promotions; maps to independent dealers; and bulletin boards. A nation-wide roll-out is scheduled for early April 2000.
