WHO:     Astronaut Richard "Mike" Mullane was selected as a Mission
         Specialist in 1978 in the first group of Space Shuttle
         astronauts. He completed three space missions and logged 356
         hours in space aboard the Shuttles Discovery (STS-41D) and
         Atlantis (STS-27 & 36) before retiring from NASA and the Air
         Force in 1990. Mullane has been inducted into the
         International Space Hall of Fame and is the recipient of the
         Air Force Distinguished Flying Cross, Legion of Merit and the
         NASA Space Flight Medal. Since his retirement, he has written
         several books and thrilled audiences with his interesting and
         motivational descriptions of the astronaut experience.

WHAT:    Mullane will be speaking to the children, families and
         affiliated members of the Santa Clarita Boys & Girls Club
         about the adventures and challenges of his career as an
         astronaut, as well as the importance of following one's goals
         and dreams. This event is not open to the general public;
         however, media are invited to attend the full presentation as
         well as participate in interview and photo opportunities at
         the conclusion of the event.

         The Boys & Girls Club is an organization that provides
         positive opportunities to young people through educational
         support, leadership development, cultural enrichment, social
         recreation and athletic activities. 3D Systems Corp.
         (Valencia, Calif.) is sponsoring the event as a means to
         educate and inspire the children and young adults of the
         local community.
