ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 29, 2000

Equant Helps QAD Improve Its Global Business Operations

Equant (NYSE: ENT) (Paris Bourse: EQU) today announced that QAD, a US-based developer of industry-specific e-business software for manufacturers and distributors, has agreed to use its global data network to help employees, customers and suppliers work more productively.

Under the three-year deal, Equant's high-speed frame relay service will enable QAD to:

-- Improve the communication and workflow among its 1,600 employees
     located in 21 countries worldwide.

-- Offer its employees worldwide access to virtual classrooms
     designed for better on-the-job training.

-- Facilitate faster remote application and software development in
     offices worldwide.

-- Streamline infrastructure used for communicating with customers
and suppliers. This is especially important since QAD currently
serves 300,000 licensed users at over 4,000 licensed sites in
     more than 80 countries.

As part of the contract, QAD also will employ Equant's fully managed integrated voice and data (iVAD) service. iVAD integrates voice and data on one network versus two, which results in voice charges below those for international calls provided by traditional telecommunications carriers.

"Equant answers QAD's telecommunications needs in terms of size and global spread," said Robin van Noppen, global telecommunications manager for QAD. "In addition, Equant's strategy for the future, in terms of iVAD and applications services, allies with our plans for growth and improved global customer service."
