Nominations Announced for First Annual Hollywood Makeup Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards; Awards Dinner &Presentation to Take Place March 19, 2000 at the Beverly Hilton

    HOLLYWOOD--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Feb. 7, 2000--Nominations for
The First Annual Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild Awards
were announced today by Alan Fama, Chairman of the Guild's Awards
Committee.
    The 1,100 active members of International Alliance of Theatrical
Stage Employees Local 706 chose the nominees for outstanding makeup
and hair achievements in motion pictures and television during 1999.
The secret ballots were mailed January 11, 2000 and returned by the
deadline of January 31, 2000 to the Guild's certified public
accounting firm.
    Ballots will be mailed on February 8 to the active members of the
Guild who will vote in all 17 categories. Ballots must be returned by
March 14 following official screenings of the motion picture nominees
and a mailing of the nominated television achievements on
videocassettes.
    The winners will be announced at a black tie dinner and awards
presentation in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton on
Sunday evening, March 19. Monty Westmore will receive the Guild's
first George Westmore Lifetime Achievement Award for contributions and
accomplishments for a distinguished body of work. Celebrity presenters
scheduled to attend include Christina Applegate, Annette Bening, Ellen
Burstyn, Kim Delaney, Brendan Fraser, Ed Harris, Holly Hunter, Martin
Landau, Rob Lowe, Amy Madigan, Debbi Morgan and Andrea Parker.
