Halifax Successfully Completes Microsoft Windows 2000 Conversion Project; This Becomes One of the Earliest Windows 2000 Conversions in the U.S

Halifax Corporation (AMEX: HX) today announced the successful completion of a Microsoft Windows 2000 conversion for WFofR Incorporated, a full service media planning and buying agency located in Richmond, Virginia.

The goals of the WFofR implementation of Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional were to reduce IT support and administrative costs, improve user productivity and boost productivity with their clients. The upgrade included the use of a Rapid Economic Justification (REJ) model, conducted by Halifax and audited by the Giga Information Group, a leading e-Business and information technology consulting firm.

In addition to completing one of the early Windows 2000 conversion projects, Halifax has a senior representative on Microsoft's mid-Atlantic Advisory Council. For 20 years, WFofR has specialized in buying broadcast and cable TV for national and regional advertisers. According to Jones, WFofR is best known for its unique spot TV buying system that produces some of the best efficiencies in the business.

He adds, &uot;We asked to participate in the pilot implementation of Windows 2000 after attending a seminar offered by Halifax and Microsoft. Because we were familiar with Halifax's network services capabilities and were anxious to move into the Windows 2000 environment, the company decided to become one of the early adopters.&uot;

Halifax began its internal Windows 2000 training in early to mid 1999, converting technical staff involved in Year 2000 software work to become technicians of Windows 2000. &uot;This was a win-win for the Company and for these employees,&uot; notes Reis, &uot;and we now have more than 15 certified technicians who are prepared to help our clients launch implementations of Windows 2000 in their respective environments.&uot;
