Baltimore Technologies launches Telepathy - wireless security for mobile commerce

Telepathy products, solutions and partner program launched at
Baltimore mobile commerce security seminar.
Baltimore Technologies (Nasdaq:BALT)(London:BLM), a global leader in esecurity solutions, today launched Baltimore Telepathy(TM), its wireless esecurity framework for mobile commerce.
This strategic initiative was launched at the first of Baltimore's global wireless esecurity seminars.
The Telepathy initiative is targeted at e-commerce companies, network operators and software developers who need to deploy secure mobile commerce applications and systems. It provides products, services and solutions that enable the seamless integration of security into a variety of wireless systems, including Wireless Application Protocol (WAP). Telepathy now enables companies to utilize Baltimore's award winning Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technology to build full strength security applications for mobile commerce.

Analysts are predicting that applications such as personal banking, stock trading, gambling, ticket reservations and shopping will become commonly available on mobile phones. The security of data communications over wireless networks has become a major concern to mobile commerce businesses and users. Baltimore Telepathy enables companies to build secure systems that solve the core requirements of e-commerce security namely Authentication, Confidentiality, Integrity and Non-Repudiation.
Baltimore Telepathy products include a range of toolkits, security servers, PKI modules and digital certificate offerings. Baltimore Technologies also announced the Telepathy partner program for business and technology partners that will facilitate the deployment of mobile commerce systems.
The Baltimore Telepathy product family will be released during the first two quarters of 2000, building into the most comprehensive system for secure mobile commerce. Products planned include

signature toolkit to enable the processing of wireless digital
signatures
-- Baltimore Telepathy PKI Registration System
-- Baltimore Telepathy PKI Validation System

The first new Telepathy product, "WAP Security Gateway" (WSG), was launched and demonstrated to an audience of mobile commerce developers at the Baltimore seminar. WSG provides a plug-and-play security system to enable secure encrypted communications between WAP phones and WAP Servers.
