Notice is hereby given that a class action lawsuit was filed on January 13, 2000, in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey on behalf of all persons who purchased the common stock of Lucent Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:LU)("Lucent" or the "Company") between October 27, 1999, and January 6, 2000 (the "Class Period").

The complaint charges Lucent and certain of its senior executives with violations of Section 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5 promulgated thereunder. In particular, the complaint alleges that defendants issued a series of materially false and misleading statements concerning the Company's deteriorating financial condition and the Company's inability to control costs and maintain profit margins.

Plaintiff seeks to recover damages on behalf of class members and is represented by, among others, the law firm of Stull, Stull & Brody. Stull, Stull & Brody has litigated many class actions for violations of securities laws in federal courts over the past 25 years and has obtained court approval of substantial settlements on numerous occasions.
