Kraft Foods International Appoints Polk To Head Asia/Pacific Business

Kraft Foods International has named Michael Polk, 39, President, Asia/Pacific. He will report to Roger Deromedi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Kraft Foods International. Polk will relocate to the Kraft Foods Asia/Pacific headquarters in Melbourne, Australia. He was previously Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Post Cereals Division for Kraft Foods North America.
In making the announcement, Deromedi said: "Mike has consistently delivered superior business results throughout his career with Kraft Foods, displaying strong leadership skills and business acumen. We look forward to the continued growth of our Asia/Pacific business under Mike's capable direction."
Polk joined Kraft Foods in 1987 in marketing with the Maxwell House Division. He advanced through increasingly responsible positions, becoming a Category Business Director in the coffee and beverage businesses. In 1997, he was named Vice President Sales Management & Strategy and a year later he moved to his present position in the Post Cereals Division.
Polk holds an undergraduate degree from Cornell University and an MBA degree from Harvard University.
