NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 18, 2000
Telco Research (TSE:TOR) announced today that its TRU Access Manager software will be included as part of the Microsoft Windows 2000 Server Resource Kit.
The Microsoft(R) Windows 2000 Resource Kit includes a comprehensive set of information, tools, and converters designed to help administrators and IT professionals deploy, support, and maintain Windows 2000 Server. TRU Access Manager will be included among the utilities and accessory software programs that systems administrators and network engineers can use daily to optimize network usage.
"Owning and maintaining a network is an enormous, growing piece of overhead," said Ralph Sonntag, president and CEO of Telco Research. "TRU Access Manager gives IT professionals the data and analysis reports they need to determine exactly how their networks are being used and to define the level of financial impact those networks are having on the organization."
TRU Access Manager collects data and provides businesses with reports that show network cost and usage trends, which help them develop and enforce network usage policies and security plans as well as allocate costs across the company, to departments or to individual users. Additionally, this new software allows companies to identify abnormal use of the network and lower the total cost of ownership. TRU Access Manager also provides information for departmental bill-back and end-user accountability; monitoring of service level agreements; capacity and growth planning; and equipment problem detection.
"As Microsoft increases the power of networking and computing tools, it's important that we help customers analyze how those tools are being used," said Ron Cully, lead product manager for Windows Networking at Microsoft Corp. "Telco Research's TRU Access Manager is an important addition to the Windows 2000 Resource Kit, helping customers perform monitoring and accounting functions for their networks."
The Resource Kit will include a limited version of TRU Access Manager that can be upgraded by contacting Telco Research.
