New Product Offers Real-Time Broadcast-Quality Movie

Trailers to Movie Lovers Without High-Speed Modems

BigStar Entertainment (Nasdaq: BGST), which operates www.bigstar.com, the leading movie site on the Web according to Entertainment Weekly, today announces the launch of its Web-connected CD-ROM magazine Drive-In that is available to current bigstar.com customers and can be ordered at no charge on the bigstar.com site.

Drive-In is a Web-enabled CD-ROM that allows all Web users to watch broadcast-quality movie trailers from BigStar's Web site, regardless of whether they have a dial-up modem or high-speed access. In full-screen mode, the trailers have the quality of broadcast television.

Drive-In will be issued quarterly and features access to bigstar.com's proprietary editorial content, product purchase pages on bigstar.com, and view-on-demand movie trailers for recent movie and video/digital video disc (DVD) releases, as well as classic movies from the last century. Drive In's volume 1 contains 28 movie trailers including Pokemon: The Movie, Ghostbusters, and Antz.

The real-time access to BigStar's site for all modem speeds is made possible through a patented rich media-enabling technology called HyperCD(R) Technology, which is made by New York-based BroadBridge Media LLC (http://broadbridge.net). BroadBridge Media is a technology company that owns and markets disc-based technologies that marry the quality of disc-based playback with the real-time interactivity of the Internet.

David Friedensohn, CEO of BigStar Entertainment, said: &uot;Providing a true Shop-A-Tainment(TM) experience underlies everything we do at BigStar. We have recognized that many of our customers access the Web from home using dial-up modems and may not be able to view movie trailers online. Therefore, we wanted to provide them with a streaming media experience in an easy, uncomplicated fashion. Our Shop-A-Tainment strategy brings customers back time and time again because we have made buying movies online a fun and exciting experience.&uot;

Shop-A-Tainment is the new Internet term that describes the combination of a fun online shopping experience with an entertaining, interesting and informative environment. Bigstar.com's Shop-A-Tainment strategy integrates captivating information about movies and movie stars within a fun shopping site, resulting in the most entertaining shopping experience for movies online.

Ken Park, president and COO of BroadBridge Media, said: &uot;With this product and our alliance with BigStar, we have delivered the most powerful return-to-point-of-purchase mechanism the retail world has ever seen. BigStar is really pushing the edge of the envelope with this technology. What makes Drive-In truly spectacular is its ability to leverage a true win-win content delivery strategy that provides users with more entertainment for their money, while allowing BigStar to create a compelling incentive for users to return to its online storefront.&uot;
