Financial Industries Corporation Announces Appointment of Vice President

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 20, 2000

Financial Industries Corporation (Nasdaq:FNIN) today announced that its Board of Directors has elected Charles K. Chacosky, FSA, to its Board of Directors and has appointed him as a Vice President of FIC.

Chuck also will serve as Executive Vice President of Operations and Chief Actuary of Family Life Insurance Company, an FIC subsidiary.

Chuck is a 1978 graduate of the Wharton School of Business and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. Recently, he worked for Pricewaterhouse Coopers and served as Family Life's appointed actuary in 1997 and 1998. Previously, he served as vice president and chief actuary for a mortgage insurer and as president of a Phoenix-based insurance service provider.

Chuck brings to FIC prior experience in mergers and acquisitions, which will be utilized in the future as we continue to grow and build the Company.
