Milestone Scientific, Inc. Announces Change in International Distribution Arrangements for The Wand

Milestone Scientific, Inc. (AMEX:MS) today announced that it had entered into an agreement with AFP Imaging Corporation/Dent-X (NASDAQ:AFPC) to terminate international distribution of &uot;The Wand&uot; through AFP by June 30, 2000.
The agreement provides for a phased termination during which Milestone will immediately begin to fill handpiece requirements of all existing and new foreign dealers throughout the world and will directly distribute &uot;Wand&uot; units to dealers in Japan, Great Britain, Germany, Israel, South Africa, Scandinavia and certain other countries. Milestone currently serves dealers in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. In addition, Milestone will assume responsibility for distribution to dealers in Central and South America in April 2000 and for dealers throughout the world after June 30, 2000.
&uot;The change in Milestone's international distribution arrangements,&uot; according to Mitch Kuhn, President and Chief Operating Officer of Milestone &uot;will bring Milestone one step closer to the end user, allowing it to better serve the individual practitioner. It will also provide more pricing flexibility and allow cost reductions to Milestone's end users.&uot;
Donald Rabinovitch, President of AFP said that the phased termination of AFP's international distribution arrangements for Milestone's &uot;Wand&uot; will enable AFP to focus its international efforts on its core business, the production and sale of dental and medical imaging products, especially AFP's new dental and digital x-ray systems.
Milestone is the developer, manufacturer and marketer of The Wand (TM), a computer controlled injection system. This precision metered, local anesthetic injection enables virtually painless injections to be administered consistently.
AFP Imaging is a medical equipment supplier whose imaging products are widely applied in dental and medical diagnostics. AFP's products are used by medical, dental and industrial professionals. Dental products include x-ray units, digital x-ray sensors, film processors, chemistry, video camera and panoramic units. AFP's products are sold worldwide under various brand names which include AFP, DENT-X and SENS-A-RAY 2000(TM).
