Organic Food Products Changes Name to Spectrum Organic Products, Inc

Organic Food Products, Inc. (NASDAQ: OFPI), announced that effective January 5, 2000, the Company will begin trading under its new name, Spectrum Organic Products, Inc. The name change was approved by shareholders in connection with the merger with Spectrum Naturals, Inc. and Organic Ingredients, Inc., which closed on October 6, 1999 and became effective on October 20, 1999. Spectrum Organic Products stock will continue to be traded on the NASDAQ Bulletin Board under the trading symbol "SPOP."

In addition to centralizing administrative functions, we have reorganized the companies into operational divisions to leverage our strengths as well as to better avail ourselves to the many opportunities," said Jethren Phillips, Spectrum Organic Products' new Chief Executive Officer. "To add further depth to the management team, in November Pete Holcombe joined as Vice President of Operations. Pete brings 33 years of food manufacturing experience, most of which was with Anderson Clayton Foods and Arrowhead Mills, an organic grain company. With a full team in place we are looking forward to the opportunities we see for the New Year."
