Sodexho Marriott Services Awarded Contract for 38 Tenet Healthcare Hospitals

Sodexho Marriott Services (NYSE: SDH) announced today that its health care division was awarded a five-year contract to provide food and nutrition management services in approximately 38 hospitals owned by Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE:THC).
The 38 Tenet acute care hospitals are located in California, Nebraska, and Pennsylvania.
"We're pleased to be able to use our management and technical resources to help Tenet control costs and improve quality as they do business in the managed care market environment," said Tony Alibrio, president of Sodexho Marriott Services Health Care.
"Tenet is expecting us to provide unique programs that improve retail operations for their caregivers (employees) as well as top notch programs and service for their patients -- their primary customer."
Sodexho Marriott Services began operating Tenet's 8-hospital Philadelphia region in October of 1999. By mid-February, the Company will initiate service in the remaining hospitals.
