CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 2000

NetManage (NASDAQ: NETM), a leading supplier of eBusiness access and application integration solutions, today announced that it has acquired Aqueduct Software, a developer of application-intelligence technology. This new capability enables users to analyze and proactively manage usage, behavior, and performance of software applications deployed throughout the corporate enterprise -- including intranets and extranets. The strategic investment is further evidence of NetManage's commitment to market-leading eBusiness solutions that help companies progressively migrate their business-critical applications and information assets to the Web.

The addition of Aqueduct Software's advanced technology provides a competitive advantage for customers and consulting service partners deploying NetManage's high-performance eBusiness solutions, by creating more powerful and flexible reporting tools to plan and manage the implementation and ongoing usage of critical enterprise-wide applications. NetManage now provides companies with solutions ranging from PC-to-host and web-to-host application access, through full integration of multiple data sources and applications into compelling eBusiness solutions.

The technology integration will allow enterprises to better target IT resources by utilizing information derived from application adoption levels, detailed behavior and usage patterns, and problem conditions of deployed applications with many users. Enterprises will be able to immediately analyze large data sets from disparate applications to reveal trends and patterns and reduce the deployment time of their business critical processes to the Web.

NetManage will incorporate the technology into its ManageNow(TM) information access management products that will be available in Q4 of 2000. ManageNow will deliver a comprehensive suite of capabilities including policy implementation and management for host access, application deployment and control, license management, administration, and reporting with integrated real-time application monitoring and support for usage and health checks- ensuring maximum up-time and productivity for internal and external users.

"This technology acquisition is a vital part our strategy to build the bridge to eBusiness and solidify our position as a leading provider of information access solutions for global corporations," said Zvi Alon, president and CEO of NetManage. "Rich application planning, management, and administration capabilities are increasingly important to our customers as they move their information assets and applications to the Web and create eBusiness solutions that will maximize their ROI."
