SAN FRANCISCO and TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 2000
Embarcadero Forms Partnership to Provide Sales, Marketing and Support
with JGC Information Systems, Japan's Premier System Integrator and
Distributor of Database Management Solutions
Embarcadero Technologies, Inc., (Nasdaq: EMBT) provider of database lifecycle management solutions, today announced the immediate availability of Embarcadero's DBArtisan and Rapid SQL database management solutions localized for the Asia/Pacific market. Embarcadero's localized version of the ER/Studio database modeling solution will be available later this month.
Additionally, the company announced a strategic partnership with JGC Information Systems Co., LTD. (J-SYS), a leading system integrator and distributor of database management products in the Asia/Pacific region, to provide local sales, marketing and support for the Embarcadero suite of products. The localized versions of the Embarcadero products are available from J-SYS.
Embarcadero's DBArtisan 5.1, Rapid SQL 5.5, and ER/Studio 4.0 offer complete database lifecycle support for design, development and administration of critical applications and their underlying databases. The localized versions feature the same automation and multi-database vendor platform functionality contained in the English language versions, and have been designed to incorporate Japanese double-byte scripting, or Kanji, throughout the user interface. A localized version of Embarcadero's PL/SQL Debugger add-on module is also available.
"As the relationship between database technology and e-business grows more critical, we have seen an increased worldwide demand for our solutions," said Stephen Wong, Embarcadero's president and CEO. "This release underscores Embarcadero's dedication to deliver solutions that meet the needs of our worldwide customer base and, in particular, our commitment to establish ourselves in the sizable Asia/Pacific region as the market leader in multi-platform database design and management solutions."
"Our relationship with Embarcadero Technologies will allow us to deliver best of breed solutions for database lifecycle management in the Asia/Pacific region," said Eishi Takahashi, president of J-SYS. "We have extensive experience with other database management products, but they are not as comprehensive as the Embarcadero solutions. The Embarcadero translation is very important to the Asia/Pacific software market, and gives our users the benefits of incomparable database management technology."
The localization effort brings to Asia/Pacific users Embarcadero's support for Oracle 8i and Microsoft SQL Server 7 e-databases, as well as Sybase and IBM DB2 platforms. The interoperable support, combined with increased automation of schema migration, extraction and synchronization features, makes otherwise lengthy, error-prone e-database system shifts and operations faster and easier to perform. Unlike competing packages, Embarcadero tools offer low up-front costs and deliver immediate results with little-to-no training time.
