Accounting Application Integration for
Interbrew UK Ltd. (formerly Whitbread Beer Company)
Viewlocity, a global provider of B2B integration and online trading community solutions, announced today the completion of the first phase of a project to integrate legacy and existing applications to JD Edward's financial package One World. Viewlocity's AMTrix(TM) product, was chosen to handle messaging and interfaces to and from the One World financial accounting system, removing the overheads of maintenance and support in the process.
The information flow processed by AMTrix will include financial data such as payroll, sales ledger, purchase ledger, asset, credit card transactions and cash transactions, where reliability is at a premium.
"We needed a system which ensured automated, reliable and efficient feeds to and from our existing systems. A key requirement was the need to keep costs down and to provide flexibility," commented Bob Coleman, Project Manager at Interbrew UK. "AMTrix co-exists with our existing infrastructure, so we have not had to change our current architecture. We also have the flexibility to introduce new platforms and be able to integrate them as well. AMTrix supports our policy of no changes to JDE core package functionality and we have been able to avoid tailoring the package software."
Coleman added, "AMTrix will provide not only the transportation of key data between One World and various legacy systems, as well as externally to the bank, but also applies complex business rules, performs audit trails and identifies points of failure. This will provide accurate and timely data flow and most importantly, robust commitment accounting."
"AMTrix simplifies a very complex business problem--how to deliver information when and where it is needed and will act as an exciting platform for our developing partnership with Interbrew UK Ltd.," commented Peter Fellows, MD of United Kingdom for Viewlocity.
