NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 11, 2000

PeopleSoft Inc. (Nasdaq:PSFT), a global e-Business solutions leader, today shipped Customer Profitability Workbench, the first in a series of pure Internet eBusiness intelligence applications that turn business data into information that is used to create profitable customer relationships.

The Customer Profitability Workbench leverages data from PeopleSoft's CRM and ERP applications so that companies can quickly and accurately identify their most profitable customers, products and channels.

With PeopleSoft's Customer Profitability Workbench, businesses can identify the areas that are driving profits and drill down to pinpoint key information about customers, products and channels. By understanding the factors that drive profitability, companies can analyze strategies to enhance their revenues, and fine-tune their sales and marketing programs.

The Customer Profitability Workbench is used to answer numerous key business questions, such as:

-- Who are my most profitable customers, what products are they

buying and which channels are they using?

-- Which products and channels should my company invest

resources in to improve profitability?

Customer Profitability Workbench is the first in a series of CRM analytic applications that will fulfill PeopleSoft's vision for providing a 360(Degree) view of the customer.

"This is an example of using applied technology to deliver the next generation of eCRM," said Sam Gallucci, executive vice president and general manager for PeopleSoft's CRM division. "Companies must be able to convert customer data into information they can use, identify and nurture customer relationships, and capitalize on them. Such intelligent eBusiness solutions are critical to meeting the demands of today's discriminating customer--and PeopleSoft has them."

The Customer Profitability Workbench is part of PeopleSoft 8 Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) eBusiness intelligence application suite. The EPM suite allows companies to optimize their workforce, business processes and customer relationships. Other EPM products that can be combined with the Customer Profitability Workbench to provide a more integrated and accurate view of customer profitability, include:

-- Activity-Based Management, an application that lets

businesses define and assign activity and resource costs for

a more accurate picture of customer specific costs and

profitability.

-- Balanced Scorecard, an application, which provides

customized views of key performance measurements via the

Web.
