GRID Media L.L.C. has acquired the newsletters Hollywood Aftermarket and The AIM Report from Carmel-based Adams Media Research (AMR), a financial and market research firm focused on the video and interactive marketplaces.
Hollywood Aftermarket serves executives in the filmed entertainment marketplace, and covers the business models of the post-theatrical movie markets: video, video on demand, cable and broadcast television. The AIM Report serves investors and executives in the interactive media industry.

Both letters will continue to feature AMR's proprietary financial models and projections, which have made the letters popular with investors and content-owning executives looking to navigate new business and media models.
Hollywood Aftermarket and The AIM Report were founded seven years ago by Tom Adams, president of Adams Media Research. Adams, formerly a senior analyst with Paul Kagan Associates, and the editor-in-chief of Video Store Magazine, is a well-known media researcher and consultant.
He will continue to retain an ownership share in the newsletters, and will serve as chairman of the editorial board for both products, as he continues to develop and grow AMR's research and consulting operations.
"I'm pleased to be in business once again with Tom," said David Shaw, president of GRID Media L.L.C. (www.gridmediallc.com), noting that both worked together at Video Store Magazine, and co-developed Hollywood Aftermarket and The AIM Report. "GRID Media will make an immediate investment in expanding the frequency and reach of each newsletter, and will launch a web site and e-mail news service for subscribers. Tom and I will also launch conferences, research reports, directories and other related products."
"David and I created these newsletters in 1993 with a shared vision of participating in the revolution in business-to-business information services," said Tom Adams, president of Adams Media Research (www.adamsmediaresearch.com). "I'm thrilled that we will now have the chance to pool resources with GRID Media to expand on that vision."
GRID Media L.L.C. was founded to acquire and launch media properties in both traditional and new media formats. The company currently publishes the newsletter firehose: streaming media for content owners, creators, broadcasters and distributors. (www.firehosemedia.com).
