NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 13, 2000

New partnership will enable Worldspan travel agents and

airlines to provide travelers with personalized,

dynamic travel information via the Internet

QPAX.com, Inc., a leader in Web-based information delivery systems for travel vendors and Worldspan, today announced the formation of a strategic alliance that will enable Worldspan travel agents and travel suppliers to send itinerary and destination information to individual travelers via the Internet before, during and until a return trip.

The system accesses real-time customized trip information, based on traveler preferences, destination and travel dates, then delivers the data via the Internet, saving the traveler time and effort, by searching the Web for the information.

Under the terms of the agreement, which includes technology, marketing and product licensing provisions, Worldspan is also taking a significant equity position in QPAX.com.

"The QPAX platform stands to benefit many Worldspan constituents -- travel agencies, travel suppliers and travelers alike -- so we're very excited about it," commented Sue Powers, senior vice president and general manager - Worldwide E-Commerce for Worldspan. "For travel agents and vendors, it's a reliable way to communicate one-on-one with travelers before the trip and throughout the trip, offering a tailored menu of services for the traveler in a particular destination at a particular time. For travelers, it offers useful, timely, personalized information issued automatically."

"Our technology allows suppliers and agents to `pick up' customers early in the trip-planning process, maximizing their ability to assist travelers and earn new revenues," noted Andrew McCrea, president and chief executive officer of QPAX.com Inc. "As soon as the traveler makes a travel reservation, we can deliver targeted information straightaway via e-mail and our patent pending Web interface, so the traveler has it early in the process without having to research it personally all over the Internet."

"QPAX uses an Artificial Intelligence approach coupled with advanced search engine database technology in order to deliver personalized communications to travelers based on an itinerary. This is 'pushed' to the traveler from the start of a booking through to the end of the trip. QPAX also takes advantage of new wireless devices and formats information to 'push' requested and wanted information to the traveler," McCrea said. "Worldspan's support and participation are key, enabling faster implementation of the platform and exposure to a broader market," McCrea added.

Travelers will also be able to receive additional value-added destination content through the system, negating tedious searches of the Web.

In addition to itineraries and confirmations, with one-click, the QPAX platform will provide travelers with customized real-time data on flight status, weather conditions at departure and personalized inbound information on local restaurants, entertainment and attractions, related to their date and time of travel, with one-click. Travelers can elect to receive the information via: PC, or any Web-enabled wireless device, including mobile phone, pager, and personal digital assistant (PDA).

The Information delivery platform from QPAX is expected to be available to airlines, travel agents and other travel suppliers by the fourth quarter of 2000.
