ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 14, 2000

INIT ASP HOST Includes Special Provisions for Microsoft Exchange

2000 and Windows DNA ISVs

Interliant, Inc. (NASDAQ: INIT), a leading global application service provider (ASP), today announced the availability of its new independent software vendor (ISV) partner program, INIT ASP HOST, at the Microsoft Fusion show here.

The ISV program is designed to encourage developers and software resellers to leverage Interliant's world-class hosting facilities to quickly and cost-effectively deploy their Web-based applications. INIT ASP HOST facilitates ISVs' entry into the ASP market and represents an expansion of Interliant's successful Business Partner Referral Program, which has signed more than 100 partners since its introduction in 1996.

Interliant's value proposition to ISVs and other developers includes, for Exchange 2000 and other offerings as well, reduced time to market, global reach, security, scalability, redundancy and reliability, plus shortened revenue-recognition cycles. Interliant's offerings range from standard solutions (leveraged physical infrastructure) to fully managed services that offload all the IT management of the solution, based on the partner's needs.

The INIT ASP HOST program also includes an initiative to make it easier for Microsoft Exchange 2000-based ISVs and solution providers to deploy their own hosted, collaborative applications on the Microsoft Exchange 2000 and Windows DNA platforms. In March of this year, Microsoft and Interliant entered into an agreement to develop application-hosting capabilities on the Windows DNA and Exchange 2000 Server platforms. Interliant is a member of the Exchange 2000 Joint Development Program and the Exchange 2000 Rapid Deployment Program and is a Microsoft Certified Solution Provider.

Besides the services provided to ISVs under the INIT ASP HOST program, Interliant will provide Exchange-based ISVs with additional services, including early access (pre-release) to the "hosting framework" Interliant is developing for Exchange 2000-based applications. The ISVs also will have access to architect level resources within Interliant and will have the opportunity to work with a pioneer in the ASP market with more than six years of messaging experience. In addition, membership in the ISV partner program enables ISVs to be considered for receipt of joint Market Development Funds for co-marketing and co-selling.

"The establishment of this ISV program is a critical step in the companies' joint effort to bring hosted Exchange 2000 ISV solutions to market," said Jim Battenberg, Interliant vice president for ASP solutions. "The capabilities that Interliant is offering via INIT ASP HOST make it possible for ISVs, solution providers and site builders to enter the ASP market under the auspices of one of the world's largest ASPs. Additionally, ISVs can take advantage of our world-class, state-of-the-art, global data centers and complex dedicated server platform offerings, including those on the Windows DNA platform, as well as our experience in the ASP marketplace."

"Interliant, an active participant in the Exchange Solutions Joint Development Partner program, is unique in that it brings to customers and partners more than five years of messaging and application hosting expertise and extensive knowledge of how to reduce the costs surrounding provisioning, instantiation, authentication and billing of hosted business solutions," said Keith McCall, Exchange Solutions Product Unit Manager for Microsoft. "By launching its INIT ASP HOST program with special provisions for Microsoft Exchange 2000 and Windows DNA ISVs and Solution Providers, Interliant was one of the first ASPs to recognize that there is significant customer demand for hosting collaborative solutions on Exchange 2000 Servers."

The INIT ASP HOST program is available immediately. More information about the program is available via phone at 1-800-774-2220 ext. 3997 or via email at info@interliant.com.
