As the leading Internet services firm, Fort Point managed the integration of the best in hardware, software, fulfillment and customer service technologies to complete BlueLight.com's preview store. Fort Point worked with its ecosystem of companies including Art Technology Group ("ATG")(Nasdaq:ARTG), Oracle Corp. (Nasdaq: ORCL) and Sun Microsystems, Inc. (Nasdaq:SUNW) in the development, management and delivery of BlueLight.com's e-commerce system. Moving forward, Fort Point will continue to lead activities for the other phases of the project. The full BlueLight.com e-commerce store will be online this fall.
"Fort Point is an integral player in the development of BlueLight.com," said Mark H. Goldstein, CEO of BlueLight.com. "In addition to integrating their eSelling(TM) approach into our site, Fort Point has successfully managed the project to ensure that BlueLight.com will provide our customers with the ultimate shopping experience."
"The completion of the BlueLight.com preview store is only the beginning," said James Roche, co-president and CEO of Fort Point Partners. "Working with a world-class group of partners we are building one of the largest and technologically advanced sites - one with all the characteristics of an e-commerce leader."
By leveraging the strengths of Kmart, the nation's second largest mass merchant retailer, the promotional power of its investment partners, and advanced Internet technologies, BlueLight.com is creating a different kind of online shopping site that exceeds the customer's expectations at every turn. Consumers who visit the current BlueLight.com phase-one "preview" online shopping destination will experience a site featuring a full range of goods designed to make shopping on the Internet as easy as a walk through your neighborhood Kmart store. Customers are able to shop for items such as home electronics, housewares, toys, sporting goods and Kmart's popular Martha Stewart Everyday(R) line of home and garden products. When the full BlueLight.com shopping site is launched this fall, consumers will be able to browse through hundreds of thousands of products.
