Will Significantly Increase IT and Web Development Contract
Resourcing and Training Services
TMP Worldwide Inc., (NASDAQ: TMPW; ASX: TMP) the leading provider of global recruitment solutions including the dominant Internet career portal, Monster.com, and the world's largest Yellow Pages advertising agency, today announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire ACS Technology Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Affiliated Computer Services, (ACS). The acquisition of ACS Technology Solutions will be a direct purchase.
"The agreement to acquire ACS Technology Solutions demonstrates our commitment to expanding our mid-market executive staffing presence and range of services in the US, particularly in the high-margin, high-growth area of Information Technology," said Andrew Banks, Executive Vice President of TMP Worldwide. "Their early adoption of Web-based technologies provides excellent synergy with Monster.com and our other products and services. Plus, through the extensive training capabilities that Technology Solutions brings to TMP, we can assure our customers that TMP contract candidates are adept with the latest technology developments, from object-oriented programming and complex data structures to Web-enabled commerce services. They will become part of John West's responsibility, TMP Executive Resourcing Group President, who was formerly the CEO of System One--a recent TMP acquisition operating in the same space."
According to ACS, Technology Solutions has served the world's largest and most dynamic firms with talent on a flexible, contract basis, in response to the strong demand for qualified IT workers, skilled at everything from the latest technologies to legacy systems, including Data Architecture structures, e-Commerce marketplaces, CRM & ERP and custom applications. With sales and service offices strategically located in the major markets of the Midwest, Southwest, West Coast and Pacific Northwest, Technology Solutions has experienced rapid growth and profitability. Now with 831 employees and consultants and more than $25 million in annual commissions and fees, the company has created highly efficient talent sourcing and service delivery models. The company estimates that over 65% of its contract candidates are currently recruited and qualified through Internet services, primarily Monster.com.
"We are delighted to join the TMP Worldwide family of companies," said Technology Solutions Co-President, Dan King. "TMP's deep resources and global talent pipeline, including Monster.com, will enable us to address a wider range of customer needs for timely staff augmentation in all of the dominant technologies required by Fortune 500 companies. What's more, joining forces with TMP gives us the necessary infrastructure to respond to global, large-scale implementation projects with consistency and continuity."
Nancy Martinez, also Co-President of Technology Solutions, added, "When combined with TMP's already significant IT resourcing capabilities in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, we become the pre-eminent player in contracting for infrastructure and application development. Our ability to source candidates rapidly through the Internet, qualifying them for assignment through our proprietary processes gives us a significant competitive advantage and the highest levels of client satisfaction. This is made possible with TMP's Intern-to-CEO market strategy and strategic acquisitions worldwide."
