MOBILE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 18, 2000
MINOLTA-QMS Inc. (NYSE:MQC) today announced its PagePro(TM) 1100L laser printer has captured another prestigious honor, this time as "PC Magazine's" Editors' Choice.
In the publication's August 2000 United Kingdom edition, the printer's great performance and excellent value led to the final verdict as top pick in the monochrome page printer category.
The award-winning PagePro 1100L is available immediately for a suggested e-Commerce price of only $249 ($279 List).
This is the third major award that a member of the PagePro 1100 printer series has garnered since its introduction just a few months ago. In the United States, the PagePro 1100L secured a spot on Winmag.com's online WinList, while in France, the PagePro 1100 earned the Editors' Choice in the May issue of "Windows News." Both of these publications, as well as "PC Magazine," praised the printer for its affordable price, good print speed, and ease of use.
According to "PC Magazine" editors, the PagePro 1100L "... is the best value for the money because it combines good performance and quality prints with a very low purchase price and running costs."
When tested for speed, the PagePro 1100L was the "... leader in our throughput performance graph by a comfortable margin, outperforming the Ricoh with its claimed 14ppm rating."
"The PagePro 1100 printers have quickly become favorites worldwide by both small office and home office users," said Jan Sundelin, senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at MINOLTA-QMS. "It's an honor to be acknowledged by `PC Magazine,' as well as other publications, for the product features most appreciated by our customers."
In the side-by-side comparison against competitors such as the HP LaserJet 1100, Canon LBP-800, and Ricoh AP1400, the PagePro 1100L consistently outperformed the review group. "PC Magazine" examined monochrome page printers from 11 manufacturers, evaluating throughput, output quality, and overall value and the PagePro 1100L was the clear choice.
"It's difficult not to like a printer at a price that still manages to outperform the rest of the review group," "PC Magazine" concluded.
The PagePro 1100 Printer Series
The PagePro 1100 family consists of two printer models, the PagePro 1100L and the PagePro 1100, both of which offer 10 page-per-minute print speeds, an IEEE 1284 parallel interface, a 150-sheet standard input cassette, and support for page sizes up to 8 1/2" x 14". The PagePro 1100L offers 600 x 600 dpi resolution and is optimized for the Windows(R) environment, capitalizing on the printing capabilities already contained in Windows 95/98 and NT 4.0.
The PagePro 1100 offers 1200 x 600 dpi, resident PCL(R) 6 emulation, an optional 10/100BaseT Ethernet(R) interface, and PageScope(TM) printer utility to handle the robust demands of multi-user small office environments.

In each instance, the PagePro 1100L ranked as the best value of the pack.
