During his 16 years at ASCAP, Sobel developed relationships with the intellectual property community, technology sector, as well as MP3 providers, while representing ASCAP composers, songwriters, and publishers to the music and media industries. Not only did he sign several well-known artists to ASCAP, including Pearl Jam, Lenny Kravitz, Soundgarden, Dave Mason, and others, but Sobel also increased ASCAP's Billboard chart market share from 51% to 61%. Sobel also increased annual revenues from $260 million to $560 million.

Sobel continues to serve on the Boards of Directors of nationally recognized media organizations, such as the California Copyright Conference and the Advisory Board of the University of Colorado School of Arts and Media. Prior to joining ASCAP, Sobel practiced entertainment law, representing major label artists and media ventures.

"With more than 90,000 members and $560 million in annual revenues, ASCAP sits at the intersection of the creative community; the music, film and television community; and the technology community," said Stuart Rosove, CEO of AudioTrack. "Ron's experience at ASCAP has given him expertise across the broad range of issues now challenging the music community. This experience brings additional strength to AudioTrack, which is working to apply innovative technological solutions to the business challenges and opportunities in the entertainment industry."
