Dwyer Group Names Bidwell Chief Operating Officer

Mike Bidwell has been named the Chief Operating Officer of The Dwyer Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:DWYR), one of the world's largest franchise providers of residential and commercial service businesses, effective immediately.

Bidwell also will continue to serve as President of Mr. Rooter, Rainbow International Carpet Cleaning and Mr. Appliance -- three of The Dwyer Group's six franchise concepts.

Bidwell, who first joined The Dwyer Group as a Rainbow International franchisee in 1984, grew to become one of the largest and most-successful franchisees in the entire Dwyer Group system. He was The Dwyer Group's first multi-concept franchisee with three of the concepts. His management expertise eventually led him to the company's corporate headquarters where he assumed increasing responsibilities. He became president of Rainbow International in 1995. He then added the same titles for Mr. Rooter and Mr. Appliance to his resume in 1998.

He has managed multiple franchise systems, and now he will oversee the operations of one of the world's largest franchising conglomerates. Bidwell already has been handling important operational issues for The Dwyer Group over the last 12 months, Dwyer-Owens said. The official promotion, however, will free up more time for Dwyer-Owens to concentrate on company alliances and acquisitions that are expected to play a large role in the company's future.
