The developed transmitter unit converts full-motion NTSC color-video signals into one to four DS1/E1, signals, or 10Base-T Ethernet/IP, or DS3 signals that are then transported via a standard telecommunications network to an operations center. This product is perfect for Intelligent Transportation Systems, Emergency Management Centers, Transportation Facility Surveillance, Building and Grounds Security, and professional video and broadcast where the need for high quality video is a must.

"VisionTech technology leadership, aggressive culture and execution record were key factors in the decision process during the selection of MPEG-2 encoder for our video security product line," said Sant Gupta, VP of North American sales and marketing for Cornet Technology. "Together, Cornet Technology and VisionTech will provide a comprehensive combination of best-of-breed hardware and advance record and transmit functions to meet the growing demand for digital video in the security market."

Kfir is the most advanced MPEG-2 encoder in the market, offering high video quality and unparalleled performance at consumer level price. Kfir captures and encodes uncompressed video and audio and generates MPEG-2 program or transport, or MPEG-1 system stream. Kfir requires a single 64Mbit SDRAM to operate. Kfir's applications include cable and satellite set top boxes, stand-alone personal video recorders, DVD recorders and video over IP.

"We are excited to be working with Cornet Technology to enable digital recording and transmission, stepping up the features of security systems, while stepping down the price," said Amir Morad, President and CEO of VisionTech. "Kfir's unparalleled performance, video quality, industry's lowest memory requirements and system cost make it an ideal solution to power IP based security systems."

Cornet Technology further announced that it began sampling its new digital video recorder.

Recently, VisionTech announced a series of design wins and strategic alliances with leading manufacturers in the field of personal video recorders and personal TV, like Replay TV, LG Electronics, Vestel, Fast and others.
