Through visual integration Sentillion's Vergence products automatically synchronize HL7 CCOW-compliant applications on the clinical desktop. Applications can be used as though they are part of a unified application suite. The end result is that the clinician avoids the time-consuming process of repeatedly signing on and searching for patient information and has more time to analyze the information--and be with the patient. In a healthcare environment, this solves a critical information dilemma that has long plagued healthcare providers - how to seamlessly access patient information that exists in a variety of disparate software applications.
"With Vergence, VHA members nationwide now have access to the tools that will help them differentiate their institution by building a coordinated information system from vendors applications that best fit their needs," said Scott Towery, senior director, VHA member strategies. VHA now requires all of its new business partners to be CCOW compliant, and for its existing business partners to provide a CCOW compliance plan. "This is part of an effort to promote industry standards, enabling integration through the use of products such as Vergence," said Towery.
"We're proud to have VHA endorse our breakthrough technology," said Robert Seliger, CEO and President of Sentillion. "Coordinating applications for the benefit of the clinician, whether it be linking client/server applications together or incorporating e-health applications into an existing infrastructure, is the power of Vergence. We're excited to bring our technology and its' clinical benefits such as ease of use, access to all available electronic information and reduction of medical errors to VHA members."
