ACME Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACME), the nation's third largest affiliate group of The WB Television Network, today announced that it has signed four separate definitive agreements with parties who have filed applications with the Federal Communications Commission ("FCC") for new broadcast television station licenses in four markets: Portland, OR (market rank No.23), Richmond, VA (market rank No.60), Flint-Saginaw-Bay City, MI (market rank No.64) and Lexington, KY (market rank No.66). Upon receipt of all FCC approvals, ACME will acquire the licenses and build the television stations. The stations in Richmond, Flint-Saginaw-Bay City and Lexington will become affiliates of The WB Television Network and the station in Portland, where ACME already owns the WB Television Network affiliate, will be independently programmed and represent ACME's second duopoly market. It is expected that the stations will be built and on the air by the end of 2001.
