Ninth Annual Reader's Choice Awards

Midway Games Inc. (NYSE:MWY), a leading software industry publisher and developer, today announced that "Ready 2 Rumble(TM) Boxing" for Sega Dreamcast(TM) has been selected as the best boxing video game by the readers of GamePro Magazine, the world's No. 1 gaming magazine.

This distinction is part of GamePro's ninth annual Reader's Choice awards, published in its July issue.

"There were heavyweights in this category, but 'Ready 2 Rumble' for Dreamcast took the belt, besting 'Knockout Kings 2000' and 'R2R' for the PlayStation," according to the GamePro report.

Midway is working on new versions of both "Ready 2 Rumble" and "NFL Blitz(TM)" for every major home console, including PlayStation(R) game console and PlayStation(R) 2 computer entertainment system, Sega Dreamcast and Nintendo(R) 64. Midway is planning to ship "Ready 2 Rumble: Round 2" as a launch title for the PlayStation 2 this fall.

"The Reader's Choice awards mean a lot to Midway because players are the ultimate judge of the quality of a game," said Helene Sheeler, vice president of marketing for Midway. Also recognized in the Reader's Choice awards are "Hydro Thunder(TM)" for Dreamcast (No. 3 racing title), and "NFL Blitz 2000" for PlayStation (No. 2 football game). "NFL Blitz 2000" was the highest-rated PlayStation football game.
