The 2E500-H-W connects a broadband modem or bridge to a small office or home network, enabling multi-user wireless broadband access for PCs and new Internet electronic devices through one wire-line connection. Prime Services Group, the distributor of Pacific Bell's DSL services, will offer the unit along with cable and other telecommunications broadband providers.

The 2E500-H-W is an addition to Cayman's family of broadband gateways. Earlier this year, Cayman introduced the 3220-H-W, a broadband ADSL gateway for wireless broadband access for multiple devices from a single connection. The 2E500-H-W strengthens Cayman's offering of providing true "digital freedom" - freedom that is not restricted by existing infrastructure or plug-in points. The gateway accommodates eight Ethernet ports, allowing every member of a family to be simultaneously connected to a high-speed connection from different locations - whether it be at the poolside, the deck or in different rooms within the home.
