Pervasive.SQL(TM) 2000 Selected as Database Engine for Thomson

Financial Treasury Solutions' PARAGON 4.0 Software

Pervasive Software Inc. (Nasdaq:PVSW), a leading provider of software that delivers the freedom to create applications for everyone, everywhere, today announced that Thomson Financial Treasury Solutions, a business unit of Thomson Financial, has chosen Pervasive.SQL(TM) 2000 as the underlying database for its new PARAGON(TM) version 4.0 software.

PARAGON is a comprehensive trading, safekeeping, portfolio management, and accounting solution for banks and fixed-income broker-dealers. PARAGON 4.0 includes many significant new features, including the Pervasive.SQL 2000 database engine, providing PARAGON users with enhanced data management performance, reliability, scalability and low cost of ownership.

PARAGON 4.0 also offers richer functionality than previous releases, giving users open database access with an ODBC interface, streamlined trade entry capabilities, the ability to support server-based processes and more robust printing capabilities. PARAGON 4.0 also includes a powerful, new report reviewer that enables users to create Web/HTML formatted documents accessible by Web browsers.

PARAGON 4.0 with Pervasive.SQL 2000 represents an extension of Pervasive's database technology throughout Thomson Financial Treasury Solutions' PARAGON product line. Pervasive.SQL 2000 is also the database engine for the PARAGON SQL Package, which allows Thomson clients to customize reports and queries and publish these reports to the Internet or distribute them in PDF format. PARAGON SQL also enables users to access both the PARAGON database, as well as a data warehouse containing report-friendly structures.
