Expert Developer and Integrator Develops Application to
Speed Tracking and Workflow Management
Infosys Corporation, a leading West Coast provider of end-to-end, Oracle-based e-business solutions, announced today that it has joined the Oracle(R) Portal Partner Initiative to deliver solutions and services based on Oracle Portal. Along with such providers as EDS and Ernst & Young, Infosys joins the program to provide systems integration services in Southern California.
Based in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, Infosys has built a reputation for developing highly scalable and reliable Oracle-based custom applications for a broad range of growth-oriented Internet, mid-size and Fortune 1000 corporations. As a portal partner, Infosys is developing its proprietary "TaskManager(TM)" web-enabled workflow management application into a portlet that can easily be integrated into Oracle Portal. TaskManager will allow Infosys customers and internal end-users to quickly initiate and simplify service requests and product level software debugging.
In addition, the new application accommodates software enhancement requests, provides for email/wireless notification, and integrates with time-card applications. With phase one scheduled for introduction in late September, TaskManager will be available through Oracle Portal with the added ease of single sign-on access.
"Our acceptance into this prestigious program is an indication of the leadership role Infosys is acquiring in the Southern California market," stated Andy Yun, president and founder of Infosys Corporation. "Our dramatic growth in recent years is a result of three factors: the strength of Oracle as the leader in enterprise information management software for Internet and brick-and-mortar companies; our strategic technology strength derived from an exceptionally high ratio of Oracle Certified Professionals on staff with expertise in Oracle advanced replication, parallel server and Sun cluster solutions; and proven application and system delivery practices that reinforce Infosys' value to our clients.
"As Internet usage expands, we believe that enterprise portals will become the single point of access that people will use for a wide spectrum of activities, including accessing corporate, business-to-business, and Internet applications. As a portal partner, we will offer our clients time- and cost-effective ways to improve personalized information dissemination to achieve faster and better decision-making."
The Oracle Partner Initiative is dedicated to establishing a community of leading Independent Software Vendors, Content Aggregators, and System Integrators, the latter of which builds, deploys, sells and supports custom enterprise portal solutions based on Oracle Portal. Partners in the program receive special enterprise portal training and provide collaborative opportunities with other partners, as well as access to sample portlets and code.
"The Internet began a race for widespread information access; now the race is to manage the Internet information glut by centralizing relevant and timely information for individual use," said Jeremy Burton, vice president, Oracle Product Marketing. "Corporate portals built upon Oracle Portal help solve the information and application management problem, while our partners provide vital value-added content, integration and services to a hungry marketplace."
Infosys Corporation was founded in 1995 to deliver value-based e-business and client-server solutions based primarily on scalable Oracle technology. The company's Fortune 1000 clients have included Amgen, Inc.; Minimed, Inc.; The Boeing Company; and The Walt Disney Company. Strategic e-business clients include Verance Corporation, Event411.com, Bizrate.com, and ExpertCity.com, among others.
Infosys has expanded dramatically in the past two years and today provides e-business application development and outsourced services for remote database and system administration across a broad spectrum of industries. The company is an elite partner and reseller of Oracle, Precise Software Solutions and Sun Microsystems, and is a channel partner with BEA Systems, Allaire, and Exodus.
