SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 28, 2000
ADAPTIVE BROADBAND(TM) CORPORATION (Nasdaq National Market: ADAP) announced that it has completed the sale of its Microwave Radio Communications division to Vislink plc (formerly Silvermines Group plc) for $19.3 million in cash. Vislink is a UK-based manufacturer of broadcast and telecommunications equipment. MRC is the last of the legacy businesses to be divested by Adaptive Broadband, enabling the company to focus exclusively on its AB-Access(TM) product platform for the high-growth, fixed wireless broadband market. The company announced the completion of the sale of its EF Data and Microwave Data Systems divisions earlier this month. Total cash value from the three transactions, including $6 million in retained assets, totals $129 million. The company expects to retain substantially all of the cash from the collective transactions, as previously reported.
