SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 6, 2000
Esurance Inc., the leading Internet-exclusive provider of personal insurance, today announced the winner of the first-ever Esurance $25,000 E*TRADE Account Giveaway, a promotion designed to introduce online insurance shoppers to the complete quote-to-claims Esurance service.
Chris M. Fenton, a network engineer from Sunnyvale, Calif. was the winner of the $25,000 grand prize. Fenton first found out about Esurance at the company's launch party in December. He then visited the online service a few months later when shopping for auto insurance and decided to purchase a policy after receiving an online quote that would save him money. For requesting a quote, Fenton was immediately entered into the drawing for a $25,000 E*TRADE account.
"The whole quote process was a piece of cake," said Fenton. "I saved approximately $200 on the six-month policy for my two cars and was able to buy it instantly online."
Fenton discovered, like many Esurance customers, that buying insurance doesn't have to be a painful and difficult process. Esurance is a complete quote-to-claims online insurance carrier that combines the service of an agent-based insurance company with the competitive rates of a direct provider. Esurance enables customers to get expert advice, instant quotes and immediate coverage, but also lets them manage their policy online at their convenience. Esurance customers can add a driver or a car to a policy, change their level of coverage and print out their policy or proof of insurance card, at any time.
"The Esurance $25,000 E*TRADE Account Giveaway was a great opportunity to introduce consumers to our convenient service," said Keith Phillips, vice president of marketing, Esurance, Inc. "We're thrilled with the overwhelming number of individual insurance shoppers who participated in the contest. Individuals, like Chris Fenton, who want convenience, value and the ability to take control of their financial futures." Esurance will launch the next $25,000 E*TRADE Account Giveaway in early July.
Esurance currently offers auto insurance in 21 states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Oregon, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.
