PRINCETON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 7, 2000

ITXC Corp(R) (NASDAQ: ITXC), the world's largest Internet telephony carrier, reported today that it is pleased to be a recipient of Internet Telephony magazine's TMC Labs Innovation 2000 Award.

According to the editors in the July 2000 issue of Internet Telephony magazine: "With this award, TMC Labs recognizes ITXC's contribution to the Internet telephony industry. ITXC is the largest Internet telephony Service Provider (ITSP) and is renowned for building its global network - ITXC.net, in which gateways from two different companies can exchange calls." ITXC.net(TM) now includes equipment from Cisco, Clarent, Lucent, and VocalTec.

"The decision to support multiple vendors prior to full industry interoperability was not an easy one," according to ITXC Chairman and CEO Tom Evslin. "But it has paid off in having ITXC.net with its 258 PoPs in 151 cities in 60 countries being at least twice as large as the network of our nearest competitor. We are able to support the gateways our carrier affiliates choose. We are able to pick the right gateway for each combination of analog and digital signaling needs, SS7 connectivity, local support, and price."

The editors explained the new award as "TMC's most prestigious award" given to 20 companies who have made "the most important contributions to the Internet telephony industry within the past 12 months." The award was also given because ITXC is "heavily involved with the iNOW! consortium and are a major part of the industry's interoperability and convergence push." ITXC, along with Lucent and VocalTec, founded the iNOW! effort in the Spring of 1998; most major vendors are now committed to iNOW! interoperability and iNOW! has become an official activity group of the IMTC which is currently chaired by ITXC Development Director Jim Yu.
