Infospace CEO Naveen Jain Shares His Vision on Killer Apps and the Wireless Web With IT Radio Network
Business Wire, June 1, 2000

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 1, 2000
While many analysts, pundits and investors believe that wireless is the killer app, Naveen Jain, chief executive officer of Infospace (Nasdaq:INSP), doesn't necessarily agree.
"It's not the wireless that's the killer app," said Jain. "What is a killer app is allowing people to do anything from communication, commerce, managing their life, and accessing information from any device, anytime, anything they want to do."
According to Jain, wireless is revolutionary because it enables people to be free and mobile. "I think the wireless Web is a complete paradigm shift in terms of how people are going to do things," said Jain. "People will now be able to manage their life from their cell phone, pager, television, PC without ever having to look at things as a separate device."
"Naveen is one of the Internet's true revolutionaries," said IT Radio Network host Marc Holland. "What impressed me is that he was first to market on the `portal-in-a-box' concept, and now is one of the earliest enablers of wireless Web technology."
Perhaps the key to Jain's success is that he combines the understanding of a technologist with the salesmanship of a marketer. "Personally, I consider myself to be a person who understands technology," said Jain. "And at the same time I have a very good sense of business in terms of where the world is moving and have been very, very good at identifying the next big trend."
"Quite frankly," said Holland, "I believe that he is probably one of the smartest men alive."
