WASHINGTON--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--June 1, 2000

Sam Donaldson and Ellen DeGeneres will discuss her return to her comedic roots and her 78-day comedy tour across the country.

Her interview on SamDonaldson@ABCNEWS.com on Monday, June 5th starts off a week of high profile guests as the Webcast expands to five days a week.

DeGeneres joins Donaldson during a tour stop in Los Angeles. She's traveling to more than 20 states and 40 theatres, performing her unique brand of stand-up comedy. And her tour will be highlighted in an HBO special airing later this summer. Many know Ellen from her long stint on the ABC comedy Ellen and through her various film roles, including EdTV and The Love Letter. Long before her big break on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Ellen made a living as a stand-up comedian, an oyster shucker and a house painter, among other things. Her true passion was always comedy.
