SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 12, 2000
Kinecta Corporation, the global technology leader in content syndication and aggregation, today announced that FT.com, the website of the Financial Times, has selected Kinecta Interact to enable the company to syndicate its financial news content.
FT.com will be using Kinecta Interact to syndicate global financial news and analysis such as daily and weekly top stocks, columnist reports and FTSE 100 coverage to its customers, including JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Barclays, and other Financial Times entities such as FTYOURMONEY.com. Michael Foster, managing director of FT.com, comments: "As the leading internet resource for global business people, FT.com wants to be accessible wherever our audience travels geographically or on the web. Syndication enables us to distribute our unique content more widely."
Leveraging the dynamics of syndication will enable FT.com to extend its content to partner sites, without losing control of its brand or the integrity of its content.
"FT.com understands the benefits of building online distribution networks to deliver content to a wider audience and to drive additional traffic back to its own site," said Dave Mathison, Kinecta co-founder, chairman and CEO. "Companies that recognize and take advantage of the power of online syndication are well-positioned to prosper in the new Internet economy." Kinecta Interact is based on the Information and Content Exchange (ICE) protocol, an XML-based communication standard. Kinecta Interact enables content providers to maintain control over the distribution and use of their digital assets, while simplifying and streamlining the receipt and deployment of those digital assets for content subscribers.
