TORRANCE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 13, 2000

CP-1260 Provides Extended Range, Convenience For Less Than $50

Budget-conscious users in search of a full-featured, long-range cordless phone need look no further.

Telecommunications pioneer Casio Communications Inc. today introduced the CP-1260, a 900 MHz cordless phone with dual keypads, a speakerphone and more, for less than $50.

Casio Communications' CP-1260 provides extended range, clearer calls and higher overall performance than conventional cordless phones. The unit's dual keypads enable users to receive or make phone calls at the base without the handset. A speakerphone within the unit's base keeps users' hands free, so they can work while they talk.

The CP-1260 also features two-way paging/intercom capabilities, facilitating communication between the cordless handset and the base speakerphone. Either user can initiate a paging signal for convenient two-way intercom conversations. Users can also set up easy three-way line/intercom conferencing between the calling party, the handset and the base speakerphone.

"The CP-1260 offers home users a functionally rich cordless solution at an exceptionally affordable price," said Dennis Cox, vice president of marketing, Casio Communications Inc. "By combining the clarity and range of 900 MHz with the convenience of dual keypads -- all for less than $50 -- users receive great flexibility in an attractive package."

The CP-1260 includes three dedicated one-touch autodial buttons and stores 20 numbers for quick dialing. A flash key provides instant connection to a second calling party for Call Waiting subscribers.

With the touch of a button, the CP-1260 automatically redials the last telephone number dialed. A handset page/find feature provides an easy way to locate a misplaced handset. Distinguished by contemporary styling and an attractive black finish, the CP-1260 is wall mountable and also includes line-in-use indicator, mute and hold keys.

The CP-1260 will be available during the third quarter at specialty retail, consumer electronics stores and other retail outlets nationwide, for an estimated street price of $49.95.
