Peter Reitz named Executive Director, Research & Development Of Dow Jones Indexes; Leading Index Provider Strengthens Global Strategy

Dow Jones Indexes announced the appointment of Peter Reitz as Executive Director Research and Development. His responsibilities include creating, developing and supporting indexes that will be licensed globally by Dow Jones Indexes. He also will take a leading role in identifying new business opportunities for the Dow Jones Indexes group. One of his first moves is to establish index development teams in Europe and the Asian/Pacific region to support customers during their regular business hours.
Mr. Reitz, 34, had been vice president of information products design for the Deutsche Boerse AG in Frankfurt. After studying mathematics and economics at the Technical University of Brunswick, Germany, he joined the bourse in 1991 as a junior product manager for indexes, became head of its index group in 1994 and was named head of product development in 1997. He was named a member of Deutsche Boerse group management in 1998.
He played an integral role in the development of the pan-european Dow Jones STOXX Index family and became the first chairman of the supervisory board of STOXX Ltd., the joint venture of Deutsche Boerse, the Swiss Exchange, SBF-Bourse de Paris and Dow Jones.
