SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 13, 2000

The American Electronics Association (AEA) has joined the Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management to present a weeklong, graduate-level program on international strategy and management for high-tech executives.

The AEA/Thunderbird Global Management Institute was custom designed by Thunderbird and the 3,000-member AEA for senior executives with at least ten years of decision-making management experience and for alumni of the AEA/Stanford Executive Institute. The program will address the increasingly complex issues and problems created by an ever-evolving international marketplace, particularly for high-technology companies.

AEA President and CEO William T. Archey will be a special guest lecturer, covering AEA's new report, Cybernation 2.0: The U.S. High-Tech Industry and World Markets, in addition to international policy issues.

Archey said, "In this era of globalization, the new AEA/Thunderbird program will prepare executives -- and thereby better position their companies -- to address the challenges of the new business environment. With global commerce rapidly becoming the very lifeblood of many technology companies, it is vital that our executives understand the issues and problems and how best to solve them."

Areas covered by the new AEA/Thunderbird program include:

      --  Competencies of an effective global manager;
      --  Global finance and shareholder value;
      --  International acquisition and market entry;
      --  Global negotiating skills; and
      --  The Global International Economy.

Based in Glendale, Ariz., 54-year-old Thunderbird is the first school of business to focus exclusively on international management education. Thunderbird's programs are designed to help companies meet the dual challenges of global business and ethnic and cultural diversity.

The first AEA/Thunderbird Global Management Institute will be held September 10-15, 2000, at the school's campus in Glendale. Enrollment is limited to 40 executives. Cost for AEA members is $4,950; for non-members, $6,300, and includes tuition, room, board and all classroom materials.
