JP Davis & Co. Named to Portland Business Journal's 100 Fastest Growing Private Companies; Media Reception Producer Makes Impressive Debut at No. 59

JP Davis & Co., the original producer of media receptions at technology tradeshows, last week was named to the Portland, Oregon Business Journal's sixth annual list of the top 100 fastest growing private companies in the Portland metropolitan area.
This is the company's first appearance on the list.
The Portland Business Journal, along with PricewaterhouseCoopers, researches fast-growing companies and ranks the companies based on a variety of criteria gathered from information ranging over three years. Awards were handed out at a ceremony on June 8, 2000 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, OR.
"The explosion of the technology industry has allowed us to grow as well," commented John Davis, president of JP Davis & Co., "Our little event business has doubled in size in terms of employees, allowing us to expand our operations."
JP Davis & Co. is the original, largest and most recognized press events company in high tech. In the last year, JP Davis & Co. has created these new positions: Special Events Manager, Media Relations Manager and Technical Manager.
Suzanne Hay, a veteran with company, previously handled both event logistics and media contact. Ms. Hay is now Special Events Manager, handling reception planning for events at major tradeshows where multiple companies are involved, as well as developing special events for individual companies.
In February 2000, Christa Wendland was added to the staff as Media Relations Manager. Ms. Wendland oversees all contact with the media, including attendance at tradeshow events and general company public relations.
"The addition of staff permits us to pursue the new area of special events for both local and national companies," continues John Davis, "We also continue to grow on the tradeshow side of things from the first event, Silicon Northwest in 1984, to a new event at SUPERCOMM this year."
