"The VisionZOOM Alpha test will finalize the complete dimensions of a typical cell encompassing the primary and secondary sites coupled with end users," stated Joe Hipple, CEO of VisionGlobal Network Corporation. "SpectraSite is an excellent addition to our diverse and growing network of alliances as we continue to build a profile of our technology in the telecommunications industry."
The Alpha test tower is the first "live" site, which will be replicated throughout the VisionZOOM broadband wireless network. The larger deployment of these sites will begin with the Beta testing stage that is scheduled for later this summer in the Greater San Francisco Bay area and followed by full deployment in cities throughout the country and internationally. The VisionZOOM network will be built upon the existing cellular infrastructure, and will be housed in similar towers with the necessary robust power and security measures that the SpectraSite tower employs.
"After evaluating several potential Alpha sites, SpectraSite provided the ideal location, antenna structure and power needs that we require," said Jeffrey G. Ballif, CTO of VisionGlobal Corporation. "The importance of completing the Alpha stage without disruption to customers is critical prior to our Beta test. SpectraSite's breadth of experience in telecommunications and networking infrastructure helps to streamline our Alpha testing deployment as we continue our aggressive network rollout."
