LAKE MARY, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 26, 2000
HTE, Inc. (Nasdaq:HTEI), a leading provider of enterprise-wide software solutions for public sector organizations and utilities worldwide, announced today it has been awarded a contract worth more than $400,000 to provide an integrated education system to the Owen J. Roberts School District, Pottstown, Pa. The contract includes HTE's Student Administration, General Accounting, Property Assessment, Payroll and Human Resources applications. The software provides an enterprise-wide solution that runs in the Microsoft Windows NT(R) environment.
"The HTE solution will provide us with an integrated, single-source solution to meet both our instructional and administrative needs," said Dr. Denny G. Bolton, business administrator for the Owen J. Roberts School District, which serves 4,000 students in grades K-12. "After reviewing the product offerings of more than 30 different vendors over a 3-year period, we determined that only HTE could provide the client/server environment based on Microsoft NT and SQL Server technology that we wanted."
The district provides more than 1,000 computer workstations to students, staff and faculty. An upcoming expansion of the district's high school technology infrastructure will significantly increase the total number of workstations.
"We designed our network architecture to support and maximize the benefits of a client/server architecture," said John Zook, IT director for the Owen J. Roberts School District. "We believe the HTE software exploits these strengths so we can enable our staff to maximize each student's learning opportunities by improving the effectiveness of our resources."
According to Gil Santos, HTE vice president of product solutions, "We are proud to provide our scalable, integrated software suite to a progressive school district such as Owen J. Roberts. Our system will enable one of the most computer-advanced school districts not only in Pennsylvania but also in the Nation to minimize their staff's time spent performing administrative tasks enabling them to focus more on education."
