SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 2000
Selectica(TM), Inc., (Nasdaq:SLTC) a leading Internet Selling System (ISS) provider, today announced the launch of its application service provider (ASP) partner program and its first ASP partner, Corio, Inc. With the partner program, next generation ASPs can offer their customers a proven, best-of-breed ISS solution that seamlessly integrates with an end-to-end e-Business offering.
Selectica's ASP partner program offers leading ASPs the ability to host Selectica's ISS software for their customers in the automotive, insurance, high-tech, networking, financial services and healthcare markets. With the application hosting market expected to grow to $11.3 billion dollars by the year 2003(1), Selectica's ASP program is designed to embrace this market opportunity by expanding Selectica's solution to include companies across the entire value chain of any given vertical.
Selectica's ASP partners such as Corio can increase the value of their service offerings by deploying Selectica's ISS to help their customers sell complex products and services across all sales channels including, telesales, field sales, distributors and resellers. ASPs already offering a range of ERP, CRM and other front and back office products like Corio will now be able to provide additional e-Commerce capabilities to help their customers sell more online while implementing a robust e-Business infrastructure. In addition, Selectica's ASP partners will have access to joint marketing and sales programs, product and technical certification, and support programs to accelerate the development and deployment of ISS solutions.
Companies using an ASP model to deploy their e-Commerce solutions can now experience the benefits of Selectica's ISS to sell online in B2B and B2C environments. Businesses will be able to focus on developing their core business and becoming competitive e-Business players while an ASP builds, deploys and maintains an entire IT infrastructure for them. Once Selectica's ISS is deployed on an ASP server, customers will be able to generate accurate online sales orders, more revenue and faster sales growth.
"ASPs are enabling companies of all sizes, across every vertical, to compete in the fast moving world of the Internet," said Raj Jaswa, president and CEO of Selectica. "Given the growth of ASPs in today's market, our partner program will enable us to effectively deliver integrated best-of-breed e-Business solutions to new untapped markets."
"Corio continues to add greater functionality to our Corio Intelligent Enterprise application suite as the first ASP to join Selectica's program," said Randy Chinn, general manager of e-Business Solutions at Corio. "Selectica's ISS strategically fits into our spectrum of e-Business offerings, and the overall program provides numerous benefits that meet our business needs. Selectica has successfully deployed their ISS with their Fortune 5000 customers and combined with our relative strengths in innovating within this space, this success will extend to the ASP model."
Selectica's ISS technology meets ASPs' requirements for scalability, performance and maintainability. Specifically architected for the Web, Selectica offers a multi-threaded architecture throughout, with superior scalability and reliability. One hundred percent Java, thin client-based and WAP-enabled, Selectica's ISS can be seamlessly integrated with all back office applications and runs on a wide range of platforms such as Windows, Sun Solaris and Linux.
