REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 2000

The 3DO Company (Nasdaq:THDO) today announced its partnership with UBUBU, Inc., the leading developer of 3D desktop technology, to instantly put the world of Might and Magic(R) within the grasp of millions of Internet users. The first and only game-related planet to appear as part of UBUBU's next generation Web and PC interface, Might and Magic offers consumers a dedicated link to realms of fantasy and wonder.

Although many prominent businesses such as Amazon.com, Marvel Entertainment, USA Networks, BBC America, Food.com, and the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) are featured in UBUBU's products, The 3DO Company is the first publisher of interactive entertainment to partner with the corporation. Via this arrangement, both 3DO and UBUBU hope to bring consumers' imaginations one step closer to reality through a combination of revolutionary technology and good old fashioned storytelling ability.

The Might and Magic brand, created by Jon Van Caneghem in 1984, includes the best-selling Might and Magic role-playing games, the Heroes of Might and Magic(R) strategy games, the Warriors of Might and Magic(TM) action games, and the upcoming Internet-compatible Legends of Might and Magic(TM) game. To date, well over four million units have been sold worldwide in the Might and Magic universe, and the games have been translated into more than 12 languages.

By downloading UBUBU's proprietary technology, PC owners gain access to a fully customizable software package that boasts a user-friendly and intuitive approach to navigation and orientation through a creative, fun alternative to text and folder-based interfaces. Users can create planets, populate them with objects, website links, files, applications, or any additional manner of items and then share and trade them with friends. Several themed planets are currently available for download, including Might and Magic, WWF, Animal World, Marvel, Sci Fi, and Outdoor Adventure amongst others.

"The UBUBU Universe represents the next evolution of the traditional desktop and we're pleased to be able to ensure that users of this service will never be more than a click away from adventure and excitement" said Trip Hawkins, chairman and CEO of The 3DO Company. "I'm certain that Might and Magic will captivate and enthrall a entirely new audience as a result of our partnership."

The 3DO Company, headquartered in Redwood City, Calif., develops, publishes and distributes interactive entertainment software for personal computers, the Internet and advanced entertainment systems such as the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, the PlayStation(R) game console, the Nintendo(R) 64 game system, and Game Boy(R) Color. 3DO markets and publishes its products worldwide under multiple brand names including Army Men(R), World Destruction League(TM), Heroes(TM), High Heat Baseball(TM), Might and Magic and Vegas Games(R).
