REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 2000
Zona Research, Inc. releases its Q2 Zona Enterprise Usage Study (ZEUS) analyzing enterprise purchases of outsourced applications through Applications Service Providers. The research and analysis shows that deployment of ASP services in enterprises today is still in its infancy but that current users and intenders are increasing their forecasts for ASP service deployment over the next 12 months.
Significant findings within the report include:
-- 73% of intended users will access two to six applications from
an ASP within the next 12-24 months.
-- 45% of current ASP users expect 50% of the computing devices
within their organization to access ASP applications within
one year (with 10% of current users expecting all of the
computer devices to access ASP services within one year.)
-- 90% of current ASP users reported that their Service Level
Agreement met their needs.
"Early purchasers of ASP services recognize that outsourcing certain applications enables enterprises to focus their resources, capital, IT and internal staff on managing other applications critical to their core businesses," stated Greg Blatnik, Vice President, Zona Research. "Our research reveals that the deployment of ASP services will sustain a moderate yet steady increase over the next twelve months. What we are seeing is a classic pattern of early adoption for this technology as the number of users within organizations increases."
The ZEUS Applications Service Provider Report (Q2) includes the results of a detailed survey of 131 qualified respondents from enterprises, combined with Zona Research's analysis and insight. The primary research contained within this report was fielded during May and June 2000. Companies included in the research have from 20 to 18,000 employees and were selected as currently using or planning to deploy ASP services within the next 12 months.
ZEUS is a quarterly tracking study using primary research to examine current and planned deployment of ASP services, the criteria used in selecting an ASP, the types of applications currently purchased by enterprises, and overall satisfaction with service level agreements (SLAs).
The report is priced at $1,395/single user PDF and $1,895 for a multi-user electronic edition. It is available now and can be purchased by calling Paul Kendrick at 650/298-4065 or toll free: 877/999-ZONA (9662) or by visiting our Web Site at http://zonaresearch.com.
