The dealer Extranet called "Internet FYI," is an overhaul to Toshiba's preexisting dealer Extranet developed more than two years ago. Using CAPTURE, an Extranet relationship management tool and a component of US Interactive's e-Roadmap(R) delivery platform, US Interactive revamped Toshiba's Dealer site giving it a new and consistent look and feel while making it more user friendly. For example, in this new version, US Interactive improved the site's functionality giving the marketing staff the ability to directly publish content without using a technologist. There are future plans for US Interactive to redesign more Toshiba Extranets.

"We use CAPTURE as project management tools for many of our strategic alliances and new clients and they rave about its ease and convenience," says Steve Zarrilli, president and CEO, US Interactive. "We're thrilled to pass on our expertise to Toshiba and we look forward to continuing our business relationship to further simplify the company's business processes."

"When the dealer portal was launched, it was the first Internet-based purchasing network to be offered by a copier and facsimile machine manufacturer," says Lisa Richard, vice president, Strategic Business Planning for Toshiba America Business Solutions, Electronic Imaging Division. "When we received feedback from the dealers about the earlier versions, we turned to US Interactive who successfully improved the site. In addition to the award, the dealer's responses have been positive and we're thrilled with the results."

Currently about 95 percent of Toshiba's dealers use Internet FYI to remain up-to-date on account information, product specifications, promotions and training schedules. In addition, there's a bulletin board for technical advice, and access to marketing materials such as sales summaries and sales catalogs.

With 24 hour a day access, Toshiba dealers can post or download pertinent information and improve and increase communication. This access often expedites products and services to customers that may ultimately reduce costs.
